Beach baggin’
I love magazine features where they show the contents of celebrities purses. Everything is always so perfect and cool. One of these days I will reveal the horrors of my purse on the blog. Not that it’s messy per se- but after a few weeks of using a purse I somehow end up with 18 lip glosses and no keys. You get the idea. My beach bag is a little less black hole like. When I was living in Santa Monica I would keep it pre-packed so I could quickly grab and go. Here are my beach bag essentials.
1 | Beach towel Preferably XL to minimize sand exposure
2 | Bronzer Get the beach glow minus sun exposure.
3 | Sunscreen Major SPF for the face and smaller for the rest
4 | Sunnies and/or sometimes a hat
5 | Accessory bag Great for keeping valuables together- and out of the sand.
6 | Sea salt spray My hair stylist turned me on to this stuff. Great for beach waves- even when it’s too cold to get in the ocean!
7 | Good read (s) book or kindle or sometimes magazines
8 | Snacks! Let’s be honest. Usually candy.
9 | Scarf Works as a pillow or face cover and doubles as warmth when it cools off in the evening.
What are your beach essentials?

Statement necklaces that won’t break the bank
I’m a sucker for a statement necklace. Bracelets? Eh. Earrings? Okay. Big chunky necklace? Yes please ! Unfortunately big necklaces usually mean big price tags. I love J Crew’s latest collection as much as the next girl but I don’t want to drop 100 bucks on a necklace that will be uncool by Fall. So- I was thrilled to find an Etsy shop that sells “knock offs” of some of the latest baubles and bling. I picked up these beauties and can’t wait to sport them!
The knock offs are a lot lighter than the real thing and don’t seem very durable. I would only recommend going this route if you are like me and just want something fun and affordable and won’t be upset if it breaks after a few appearances!
