When I saw this Paint by numbers pixels kit at Urban Outfitters I had to buy it. To be honest I wasn’t expecting amazing results, but nostalgia got the best of me.

The concept is awesome- you upload a picture to their website, and it creates a paint by number grid that you print out on  provided paper.  For best results they recommend using a photo that doesn’t have much detail so I chose this snapshot I took of the Alamo:

Then I got to painting. By numbers.

It took a couple of hours to fill in each square and was tedious at points, but it was really fun to see the progression of color and dimension. At the end I was impressed to see how much depth and detail was portrayed through such a simple system. So much fun!
