Most weekends are jammed packed with activities and it is rare that  the boy and I have a Friday night with no set plans. We decided to go for a walk down to the beach to watch the sunset (it’s about a mile walk from my apartment). Once I got outside I didn’t want to go home! It was such a beautiful evening and I wanted to eat and drink outdoors. The only issue was that we were grubbed out in our workout clothes and Steve didn’t have anything else with him.

As if the apparel gods were calling- we walked by the Third Street Promenade on our way home and were accosted by orange sale signs at Banana Republic. Not one to pass up a BR sale- I came up with a impromptu challenge. The two of us had 15 minutes and $100 total to get new outfits for the night.

I found some cute jeans on ridiculous sale and an oversize sheer cream top and an undershirt. All other accessories and shoes are things I already had. Steve found a great sweater and a pair of shorts.

Disclaimer- we did go about 20 dollars and 10 minutes over budget- I blame taxes!

Armed with appropriate attire, we hit up a local restaurant, Spumoni, and had a wonderful evening of wine and Italian fare.

It was fun to do something spontaneous and the evening turned out perfectly. And of course, I got a new outfit out of the deal! Bonus!

Love and Candy,
