This weekend was so much fun (maybe too much in my old age!). Friday night we dragged ourelves to crossfit and then rewarded ourselves wtih a fun DTLA date night. We went to Trader Vic’s at LA Live where we shared a ridiculous TIKI bowl and chowed on some yummy Hawaiin Fare. I had the curry, he went for the surf and turf. We also indulged in Banana Fritters for dessert. Worth every last calorie! Saturday Steve went off to a Bachelor party and I went to a friends birthday party conveniently located two blocks away. Hooray for DTLA friends! It was a lovely time with really great people and amazing food. They made a “bacon explosion” which was epic in every way. It’s basically a jelly roll made of sausage and bacon. Steve was horrified to have missed it. One of my oldest friends Shawna is in town and since Steve was gone we had a good old fashioned slumber party. After the bbq we went to Baco Mercat for some delicious fare and then to Cole’s for some nightcaps. We had their 1928 cosmo which put regular cosmos to shame. They are made with gin instead of vodka and homemade rasberry liquer instead of cranberry juice and sugar. Definitely a convert. It was so fun to catch up with such a dear friend!
Then came St Party’s Day Sunday. My sister and her husband were hosting a bar crawl in Hermosa which we clearly had to join. Who can say no to a themed crawl? Not this girl.
love and candy,
